Ga Mantse disagrees with Ga youth

Posted by Business in Ghana on March 26, 2009

The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Tawiah III, on Wednesday condemned the actions of individuals and groups purporting to be speaking for the Ga people on land issue.

He told a cross section of the media that while the Council share the feelings of Ga people being alienated from their land, it would however not condone the activities of individuals and groups agitating for the release of Ga lands.

King Tackie Tawiah said, on such issues, the Ga Traditional Council held the supreme right to speak on behalf of the people and it was distressing that the land issue was taking political colouration.
